I know there are tons of websites out there that cover complete or almost complete subjects such as history or grammar. Sites such as www.starfall.com and studydog for example.
I'm trying to come up with a larger list of sites that cover entire subjects or close to it without the need for extra books. I'm doing a workshop (volunteer, I'm not profitting in any way) about thrifty homeschooling and one of topics requested is internet homeschooling and reducing the use of books. This would benefit those without a good library system and those that have little space for storing materials.
I'd love any sites you'd like to share.

I don't knoe of any websites that can help you, because we don't utilize the internet in that way, but Baldwin Online literature has the text of many classic fairy tales and some other books online. I know that there are other sites out there that have free online versions of many books as well.

There are a lot of links to internet-based resources at Ignite the Fire. Some of the links are inactive, but I've found many good things there.

If you use her research though, it would probably be good to ask her permission and/or give credit to her.

Also, one other great site I was just re-discovering yesterday is KISS grammar. The Ambleside folks use it as an option.

And of course, Ambleside itself has all kinds of links to free internet literature and other resources.

OH... and Gene Moutoux's site. He has a complete German textbook, some diagramming resources, and a few Latin resources.

I guess a lot of these I am listing are geared towards older students. For younger kids, if you like old-fashioned phonics and 3Rs, Don Potter's site has a lot of downloadables that you could read on your computer.

Quia doesn't have complete courses, but works great as a supplement -- quiz games on every different subject.   I use it a lot with my kids.   you have to pay to get all the benefits, but it also has a lot of free resources.

Enchanted Learning is a paid subscription but it has all kinds of printables.   Possibly not quite what you are looking for since it does have a paper component but on the other hand it cuts down on the need for a bunch of workbooks and coloring books around the house.
