Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi, everyone!

Yes, that thread exists (despite the fact that I could have easily deleted it). I based my opinion on the information that Lissa had dug up.I even asked her to reporduce that information because I'd forgotten what she'd said originally. And that information asserted that Waldorf was rooted in paganism. That surprised me initially because the only Waldorf school I've ever been in was in an Episcopal church. But I did believe the information at the time. When I stumbled back upon Waldorf, I went back to the thread and read what little was left of Donnalynn's arguments. I did my own research and I understood what Donnalynn had been trying to say.

My apologies for coming late--unfortunately life provides me few opportunities to visit the boards nowadays!

Mary G, I realize you have locked the big thread and asked that there be no more discussion of the spiritual underpinnings of Waldorf. My belief is that those of us who enthusiastically endorse certain aspects of the Waldorf method (not to mention, recommend Waldorf-related resources to other Catholics) must be prepared to answer questions about Waldorf's connection to anthroposophy. It's vital to be informed about the aspects of Waldorf theory that conflict with Catholic doctrine so that we, as Catholics, can avoid straying into error.

Since the moderators would rather not have that kind of discussion here, I would be happy to help, if possible, by hosting an open thread for discussion in the comments at Lilting House. If you have questions or concerns, please fire away! I'll do my best to answer.

I would like to thank Lissa for her offer of help. I'm thilled to know she's still checking in -- she's been so quiet and I've really missed her!

Because the discussion of Waldorf's connection to anthroposophy caused such descension on the boards this past week, I am going to lock this post from further comments.

It's not that we don't want to handle the difficult topics -- it's just that this particular one lies outside the purview of the Boards.

Thanks again, Lissa, for your generous offer of further elucidating this topic.
