I am wondering what kind of hours you keep? I always feel like there are just not enough hours in the day!
I keep thinking that if I got up 1 hour earlier or managed to stay up a little later I could "catchup" - so not counting time nursing wee ones at night what is a typical bedtime and wake up time for you?
Thanks

I get up at 7am and go to bed around midnight-ish. I am not a morning person at all, so to get up any earlier is not really an option for me. If I need to get something done I prefer staying up late to do it.

I am also a night owl I am currently going to bed at 11ish, and waking up around 7:15 to nurse the baby. But, we lay in bed until close to 8 snuggling and "talking."

I guess someone should speak for the "other half" .
I'm a morning person. I'm up by 5:00 AM but falling asleep by 10:00 PM. My dh is the same. My baby sometimes wakes me up to nurse at 4 or 4:30. If that's the case I just get up. I love waking up to a quiet house! That is the time I am most productive.

That's me. I often "meet" Dawn online during the wee hours too.

I'm not exactly a night owl, but DH is... so I am up around 7.30am and in bed about midnight.

I am middle of the road. Try to get to bed around 10pm--though lately it has been 11--need to get a few little chores done in peace I am usually up at 7am with the puppy who cannot stay in her crate one moment longer. And I can't blame her since I am doing the bedtime stuff with the kids from 8-8:30 on and she is in there for that.
I seem to need at least 8 hours to be in a good mood. When exercising I can get by with 7. Can't figure that out

I'm up at 6 to nurse, then I get dressed so I'm ahead of my littles, who are earlybirds. I'm asleep about 11. Earlier would be nice, but then I'd miss out on getting to talk to the olders!

I can swing either way, I've never been picky about sleep luckily. I lay down to nurse the little to sleep around 8:30, get up to say good night to the bigger kids between 9-9:30, spend some time with dh and some ice cream , then I'm usually asleep between 11 and midnight.
I get up anywhere between 5 and 7 am. I like a little bit of time for coffee and prayer before the brood is up. Of course I often have a baby boy or toddler girl up early with me nursing.

I get to sleep around 11pm and get up at 6:30am.
A (I hope not unrelated) question for you all: it sounds like most of you sleep about 7 hours a night. Does this feel like enough?
I used to get by with very little sleep just fine, but for the past few years, I have found that I am very sluggish and tired if I don't get at least 8 hours, preferably 9. Of course, this is hard to do, especially with my two littles Luckily, my husband only needs 6 hours a night and is able to cut me some slack
Just curious if you are just tired but dealing with it or if 7 hours is really enough for you...

Glad I'm not the only one! I can survive about one and a half days on less than eight hours a sleep each night. I would prefer to get a little more, but eight seems like a good balance between fatigue and having enough time in my day. I'm definitely a morning person, but I can't do it on too little sleep and I've been having trouble getting to bed on time. Lately we've been sleeping 10:30-6:30. I'd love to get up before the kids, but my dd sleeps with us and doesn't stay asleep at that hour unless I'm with her. Now that we have two kids (I know, not that many compared to most of you), I'm starting to see why time with the dh in the evening is so valuable!

I guess I am a middle of the road person. I try to be in bed by 10pm. Dh is not usually home during the week, so sometimes I go to bed earlier just to read(or coax a reluctant 3 yr old to sleep). The baby gets up 1 or 2 times between then and 6 am. I've been trying to get up at 6:30am and cook a good breakfast everyday, but I have to set my alarm to do it.

I was always a bit of a night owl, usually to enjoy reading. Now adays with 4 children, I just can't seem to get everything settled at the end of the day, and fall into bed between 12 and 1am ( though we aim for 11pm). The children 8, 6, 4 and 18 months, usually sleep from about 10pm till 8:30am. Dh usually goes to bed about same time as me, but he's up at 7am, and I sleep til the kids wake, as my sleep is still punctuated with baby feeding 3 or 4 times.

I pretty much regularly go to bed between 11 and 11:30. If I can swing it by 10:30 then woo! I'm always awakened at 6 when dh gets into the shower...so sometimes I jump in when he is done, or I wait till about 7am. I have found that if I wait too long to wake up...I can end up totally losing the shower...and that's not always a good thing...at all
But...I have to say...I am finding that about once every two weeks, I really try to go to bed by 9:30...it's like a recharge or something I need.

I'm a morning person also. I usually get up at 6:15, although lately I've been getting up at 6:45. I have a hard time sleeping at night, so with this pregnancy I'm staying in bed later. The little kids go to bed around 8:30 and we get to bed between 9 and 9:30, lights out by 10. I usually fall asleep before my husband turns off the lights. Once in a while I'll check the prayer forum and I end up staying up later

I am a night owl only when pregnant for some reason...so right now I feel tired all day and then wide awake around 9-11ish PM. This makes my husband happy as he loves the company! I'm up anywhere from 4 to 6, usually about 5:30 (my toddler is a very irregular sleeper). I do have to take a nap a few times a week to keep this up when pg...
At other times, I'd say I'm in bed at 10:30 - 11:00 and up about 6 - often with nursing interruptions or for the past 4 years one child or another who thinks 2-4 AM is party time. (I am deep in prayer that this new baby NOT follow in his last two sisters' footsteps!! )
I could definitely use more sleep than I'm getting, but I try to make do.

Thanks for all the responses! I think I really just want to feel like I had a little more energy.
My get up and go has gotten up and left without me!
I used to walk in the mornings - I'll have to try that again. Most days around 3pm, I just feel like I am hitting a wall.
I've also been taking Benadryl lately - some seasonal allergy thing is really bothering me - especially at night - maybe that's wiping me out too.
And why is it that when I'm at my most tired my boys seem to have the most unruly energy?

I so hear you about the 3pm wall! Mine tends to be about 2pm. I try really hard to have the kids do their read alouds to me before then and/or the other way around. I don't know how many times I have fallen asleep listening to a child read...I feel awful. And the worst is when my eyes keep crossing when I'm trying to read to them...ugh...I know they must think I'm out of mind - skipping words, mixing up the lines! Sometimes I forget that we read a certain chapter...I can't remember at all what I read about, but the kids claim I read it, and well the book was open in my lap! Yikes! That's when I try to make the point to go to bed early! Amazing anyone ever learned to read with me

Benadryl tends to leave me with a "hangover." Can you cut the dose in half?
