One of my goals for this school year is to teach my dc some first aid. I would like it to be hands on-playing with bandages and splints and such and directed to a 9 1/2 year old boy and 4 1/2 year old dd.
I was hoping to do a modified Red Cross type. My library doesn't have any Red Cross books for me to borrow though.
I am thinking of giving ds some introduction to CPR too!
Things have changed a lot since I took classes with the Red Cross 20 something years ago. I'd like them to have some current knowledge. Like these new defibrillators(AED?) in public--
Ideas?

Does your library have any scouting booklets? They usually have some basic first aid.

My best friend is a Paramedic and she said any local Fire Department, Red Cross, or Hospital should have all kinds of kids manuals, coloring books, etc. that they give to the kids. She also said that (at least here) they'll give kids tours of the Fire Station, the Fire Trucks and the Ambulance.
