3 of my kids are now enrolled with Seton. This is a HUGE change for us, and I was nearly in a panic leading up to hitting that 'complete enrollment' button. My husband was very encouraging and he feels it's the right thing for our family at this time. Once I hit the botton though, I had a feeling of peace and relief, mainly over the fact that I don't have to write out lesson plans for those 3 children this year! My K'er and 2nd grader will be doing a bit of CHC, FIAR, and Catholic Mosaic, but having done 4 K'ers and 3 second graders already, I don't feel much pressure when it comes to their 'lesson plans'.
I feel good about this, I just hope we don't get swallowed up in tedious assignments.

That is wonderufl. i know that having my kids enrolled in Kolbe is a huge help. With homeschooling 5 and then having 2 other little ones around it is a help for me.
I hope it goes well.

Lisa, I'm so glad you're feeling good and at peace about your educational plans. That's a good place to be right now.

Don't worry about it Lisa. It will be fine. I did it for 2 years and its not my style at all but life was overwhelming me. Also, remember you do not have to do everything in the lesson plans and you don't have to send in everything. Do what you can. SOme people don't submit anything and don't get grades; they just use the lesson plans.

Lisa,
I have long toyed with the same idea. I torture myself, with waffling back and forth making myself feel guilty that I need to be doing "the ideal Homeschool" job. Then having to realise I have limitations, I can't do every good thing. Much as I would like to, some good things can't be for me right now.

I know the feeling, Lisa! I enrolled my oldest ones in MODG and felt the same way! It was rough and I toyed with the idea for a few years, and given our family situation this year, it was the decision that gave my husband & I the most peace.
I have the same concern regarding assignments, but continue to remember that I do not HAVE to do everything as it is spelled out and this is a tool to help ME school them. If it proves that it was less than ideal, well, we'll tweak it to make it work for our family!
God Bless you, your family and that BABY!!! The peace you feel will give you confidence regarding the decision.

It's also really great, Lisa, to be on the "inside" to get a sense of exactly what the curriculum providers offer.
We use Seton "ala carte", basically the 3-course special for $250. Last year, our 2 eldest ds were enrolled in the reading courses. We can live without the reading comprehension books/seatwork but the book reports have been invaluable. My sons had no idea what to do with their 1st book report & by the 4th one, they were organizing & pulling it all together on their own. Seton gives wonderful guidance in the area of book reports.
I think you're gonna love it. Don't feel guilty about what to throw out so that you're not a slave to the curriculum.
