OK, just for fun, I'll show you what I did today...handed this out to other baseball families:

Do you want (name of town) to have a positive high school baseball program? If so, please contact Athletic Director ------ at ------, per his request to take our family’s private concerns public.

On April 9, 2014, David McIntyre was told by Athletic Director ----- that there is no reason to investigate our family’s private complaint about Coach -----’s baseball program because:

1. No one other than David McIntyre has complained about Coach ----- and his program.

We believe that others have complaints about Coach ----- and his program, even if they haven’t filed a formal complaint.

2. Coach ----- hasn’t broken any protocol.

We believe the standard isn’t gross negligence (physical assault, etc.) but rather that Coach ------ should be held accountable to the (town) community and to the standard of the ----- Unified School District Values and Behaviors Statement (link)

Trust: We believe everyone is committed to our Vision, our actions match our words, and we follow through with mutually agreed upon goals.
Commitment: Taking ownership, constantly improving and executing our plan to achieve our Vision.
Communication: Open dialogue in a timely manner coupled with active listening resulting in better understanding.
Teamwork: Working cooperatively toward our Vision while respecting and embracing the diversity of others.
Enthusiasm: Radiating a positive, passionate attitude toward reaching our Vision.

On that same evening of April 9th, our family attended (town) Little League games. The players were talented and having fun. The coaches were generous and encouraging. The crowds were large and positive. The volunteers gave their time freely. The board members ensured that proper procedures were followed. (Town) Little League shows that we have great baseball players and that we’re a great community. We just need positive baseball programs for all of our youth, ages 3 - 18 and proper leadership. (Town) High School baseball can be all that every Little League player hopes it will be. Thank you for your consideration


So...our family is being chewed up and spit out by the system. Sigh.

A bittersweet update to this prayer request. After working through a very broken system, the superintendent of the school district found reason to investigate which lead to the coach "retiring" from both coaching and teaching. There is never joy in such situations but there is relief knowing that this coach can no longer be grossly negligent and abusive to other students. Our family never received an apology. Pathetic handling from start to finish.

Now to the sweet part... Aiden is signed with Yavapai College! I really can't express how much we appreciate the many prayers you have generously prayed on Aiden and our family's behalf. This signing, in my mind/heart/soul, is a beautiful miracle. Thank you for being a part of it
