Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

What about ordering something from an online store? That way, we could all get the very same thing. Ideas?

Er ... what about those of us not in the US. Don't we get to play?

Seriously, it may not be feasible to get the same wines here anyway ... but let me see if I can find that white ...

I just ordered the twin pack of Rosso to start...one for tasting, one for Easter . Is everyone OK with this? If it's not great, we'll go easy on them for being pro-life, right?

Sounds good to me - I just ordered a twin pack.

Me too!

ETA - Rats! Bill just told me someone at his office said MA doesn't allow alcohol delivery from out-of-state. I guess I'll have to wait and see. It appears my order went through ...

I ordered the Rosso twin pack too! For years, I've stayed away from reds because of the sulfides (which seemed to trigger migraines in me), but I am thinking about trying red again. Who knows? Maybe I've "outgrown" that reaction, and I know my hubby will enjoy the wine regardless! Fun!

Regarding the Aquinas white, the website seems to indicate that it will only be shipped within California. Do you think that's something that can be picked up at retail liquor stores throughout the country?

Not for me either. I tried to order it and they don't deliver here.

But the Rosso is on the way!

We can get the Aquinas at the stores around here. I am sure you could call a local store to see if they carry it.

My husband got on a kick a while back only buying wines with a Catholic name. That is when we found Aquinas, Franciscan and Trinity Oaks wines. I will look into the BOGO ones too. How cool is that? !

Dawn -

Make a sneak run into NY or CT and open a post office box. Order the wine to be sent there....

Peace,

I can't imagine you would. . . unless of course your mailman delivers for FedEx.

I just got my confirmation too. When are doing the actual tasting Macbeth?

Well, you can't send alcohol through the POST OFFICE at all... other carriers (fed ex, UPS) are not restricted.

For European wine tasters, maybe you can find Lacryma Christi wine from Mt. Vesuvius in Italy? The name translates to "Tears of Christ" and the grapes are so ancient that they were grown when Pompeii was buried in ash and pyroclastic flow in AD 79.

Another (more modern) option from the same area - well, a bit north - might be the Falerno ("Falerno del Massico") varietal, also very ancient. (There is a white version called Falanghina, also, very light and dry.)

I have no idea what's available in the UK. We lived in Italy twice...so I know much more about their wine than any other (even though I grew up in Calif. and went on a wine-tasting honeymoon...a whole tale in itself).

I'm sipping a lovely Pinot Noir from Costco as I type! (It's been one of those days--not enough sleep last night! )

I'm in...as long as it isn't too $$$$.

I guess we wait until everyone is ready...or we can stagger it a bit. It's not as if we are all in the same room . When it arrives, just post, and we'll begin. Maybe we'll start a new thread...one for the red, and one for the white?

Okay - I just ordered over the phone because the website was giving me problems. It kept adding MORE twin packs of rosso, until it wanted LOTS of money from me.

Anyway, I talked with Bill Schneeberger, who said he's been getting tons of orders for twin packs of Rosso, all from ladies. He wondered what was going on!! He was very amused and so happy for the support. He wanted me to thank you all on his behalf.

Peace,
Nancy

That is making me laugh!

How nice it is to support a good company.

Ha! That is SO funny! I was thinking they might be wondering why they were suddenly getting orders for the Rosso.

Oh the power of the internet! I actually got a phone call from Suffering Servant Scriptorium yesterday thanking me for my review. When I asked her how she knew about it already she said it was because it had generated so many hits to their site!

Oh, I am thrilled about that! If it's good wine we can do it again, no?    I better go order my wine
