Today marks the birthday of Laura Ingalls Wilder. To a great woman and a wonderful author -- thank you from my entire family.

No kidding Paula -- that little woman sure brought great things to our homeschool last year when we read the series aloud!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

My dd asked if we could celebrate the day dressed in prairie clothing/bonnet and pretend we're pioneers. Gee, guess I'll have to search my closet for my pantaloons.

We love her, too, and I just came from my blog where I was wishing her a happy birthday. As I put up some links about her, I actually found a Japanese fan site. Really.

I grew up in Sleepy Eye, MN and we went to Walnut Grove quite often for the pagent. My dad would take me and it is one of my favorite memories.
One year in promotion of the pagent they had Nellie (I can't remember her real name at the moment) - the first Nellie, stop at our town at the train station. She was riding from St. Paul to Walnut Grove as a tour and it was so exciting to see her in Sleepy Eye.
