Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I know it doesn't sound very CM, but has anyone tried Switched on Schoolhouse?

It is on sale at Timberdoodle and I am looking for opinions.

I have not personally tried it but my mother used it to homeschool my niece for two years while she lived with her. They really liked it.

The only drawback I recall was not being able to use both the laptop and desktop. Apparently there was no way to import the completed lessons from one computer to the other. It may have been fixed since they last purchased it.

Good luck.

Blessings,
Krisann

As a single working mom I've often been tempted to implement some SOS subjects! Particularly science!

Be sure to check out the SOS yahoo group. They are so informative and can answer any questions you might have. Having been online reading homeschool message boards for 12 years now, I have noticed that SOS math gets consistently poor reviews. The other subjects don't.

Oh, and you can import/export from one computer to another, just so you know!

Several users of SOS have stopped using it because their kids would just kind of mindlessly select the right answer, even after mutliply efforts.

It definitely depends on the student, but I know my student would be prone to doing this type of[]u get it over with without learning anything :-) mentality.
