Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Just looking into this right now, and thought you ladies may be interested...

The Magnifikid website mentions something called
Magnifikid Minute. It is an audio file, a podcast (or mp3 file), I think ... that goes along with the Magnifikid for the week.

My 5yo loves Magnifikid and loves audio shows, too. So I think this is just what I need to get him interested in looking at Magnifikid mid-week.

I've already emailed and suggested that they post the audio show for the _upcoming_ week. It looks like they only post current and past weeks right now. I'd love to use this to prepare for next week's Mass (both prepare my son and ME)

If anyone is already using this program - I'd love to hear how you incorporate it into your week.

Erica
(who just found another reason to play with her favorite Christmas gift - an mp3 player)

Wow thank you for this great link!! My 6yo dd will love it! Are you supposed to listen to the show on sunday morning before church?

She loves audio shows too. We have especially been enjoying storynory, homeschoolradioshows.com, and some old tapes we found with Let's Pretend radio shows on them.

Magnifikid has always looked like such a good resource to me, but I hesitate to get it because dd isn't reading fluently yet. Should I wait?

blessings,
melanie

Hi, Melanie,
I agree that Magnifikid is a great resource.

I'd see if you can get a sample copy before you subscribe. Or pm me and I can mail you an old copy of ours. It is fun to look at - and ds loves the comic strip - but there is a lot of text and could be overwhelming to a new reader.

I probably started ds a bit early. He reads very well and follows along for at least part of each Mass. But usually his interest fades part way through the service. He is only 5 yo even if he's reading beyond his years

And thank you for the links as well. Two of them were new to me and I look forward to checking them out.

I have not figured out how to use this new program yet. I'd love to have access to it to review the readings, feast, etc. the week prior but (since that's not how it seems to be set up) for now I will probably just play the program the week following the Sunday and review. I'll keep watching here to see if anyone else has more ideas.

Erica

p.s. Melaine, checked out your blog. You must have amazing energy with all those little ones. Your family looks wonderful
