Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I was admiring Elizabeth's lapbooks with the Jan Brett pictures (Gingerbread Baby) and wondering how I could do that without a copier. I took pictures with my digital camera of what I wanted from the book, then downloaded and printed them! When you print them, you can pick the size (8x10, 5x7, 3x5, wallet). This has thrilled me to no end. I'm sure you other bright women had already thought of this, but I thought I'd pass it on.

I never thought about it, so you get a big from this neck of the woods. I'm going to give it a try tomorrow.

Hello!! (That is me hitting myself in the head). Why didn't I think of that? I've been lamenting my lack of a color printer and scanner..but I can take the pictures and have them printed!! Excellent idea!

Jennifer,
You're saying that you could have them printed professionally? Is there an online source where you can do this reliably and inexpensively without having to go to Long's or some storefront?

Brilliant idea, Courtney -- I wish there was a lightbulb emoticon!

I use Shutterfly.com for printing my digital pics. I have a prepaid plan which brings the cost per print down to $0.12 each. I would need to be organized because it takes a few days to get the prints back in the mail-but no running out to the store. If I take pictures for Gingerbread Baby tomorrow I can get all the stuff for our (first!) lapbook organized and when the pix come we'll be ready to go.

I just print the pictures for the lapbooks on my color printer with regular paper or possibly cardstock.
