Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Bethlehem Books carries a bible called The Picture Bible. It is comic strip format with words true to the story and isn't dumbed down. I gave it to my son (8) and a nephew and a friend (ages 11 and 8 respectively) and all three stayed up late at night for as many nights as it took to read it.

I read it myself and for the first time, got many stories straight (like all those different kings and prophets.) I highly recommend this Bible (only my son, out of the three, is homeschooled. The other two children do go to Catholic school, just for your reference.)

Thank you Kelly for that recommendation. I think that Bible will be great for my stepson next year! He and his mother are Catholic but are not a practicing one. I think this will appeal to him.

Carole, that Bible sounds great that i might like one for myself!
