Does anyone else do this? Throw a few things in some bags and take off for a couple of days ? With dh only just back from a 9 week away spell that is just what we did. I have posted on our blog in more detail(http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/Aliadelaide/206877/)
but just wanted to recomend the practice and to say how worthwhile those few days break away were. I was very reluctant to do it to begin with, what about music practices, the children have a concert this sunday, and missing another folk dance rehearsal should we do it; and is it right to take a break from routines when this year has seemed so fragmented anyway...yes yes and a thousand times yes. I am an enthusiastic convert as excited as a small child on Christmas morning!

ps I wasn't sure if this was the right place to post this or even if anyone would be interested but I feel full of spring fever(that's my excuse)and refreshed for another spell of our family's routine...until the next retreat!

Wonderful! I'm so glad for you. You need those times of refreshment.

We just returned from a week in Bermuda. It was our first vacation in several years. I had worked for four years straight outside the home, and a single parent to boot!, with only taking two weeks off. Can you imagine?!? What was I thinking! I resisted this vacation when my mom and sister scheduled it for a group of us. . .it was the best thing we've done! Loved it!

Be sure to schedule in some downtime, always!
