Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

What a fun website! Dawn mentions Gooseberry Patch in her very inspiring Christmas in July (or August) post and Cay says she loves their cookbooks.

Tell me, what do have and love from Gooseberry Patch?

I love getting their catalogs in the mail! I haven't ordered anything from them, but I think the bubbler nightlights are delightful. That would be my choice, if I could convince myself to pay that much for a nightlight. :) Hmmmm, my birthday is coming up...perhaps I should start dropping hints.

I use the Taste of Autumn quite often as well as The Old Fashioned Country Christmas Cookbook during the Christmas season. I love the whimsical look of their books!

I love the name Gooseberry Patch! How strange am I?

Seriously, my #1 reason for loving Gooseberry would have to be because they are so full of Elegant Simplicity!!!!

And I didn't get my Christmas cookbook last year. By the time ds went to Cracker Barrell, they were sold out. So this year I've requested it yet again. Here's hoping.

Now, I have to go back to their website. When I clicked on the link you provided, Elizabeth, Annie had just walked over and was enraptured. She keeps saying, "Go back, Mommy!"

Btw, everyone needs to check out Dawn's post. It's scrumptious!!!!

Hooray! Finally a topic on which I can reply with some intelligence.

Here is my all-time favorite cookbook. Everything I've made out of it we like. Everything is simple. Little ideas for decorating sneak onto pages. The book's effortless ideas for making your home more festive are priceless. In the back fo the book are readers' fond Christmas memories. I also have the Cozy Home Cookbook and my son's favorite (because it pictures a hamburger on the front), What's for Dinner?. As a matter of fact, he *gave* me that one for Mother's Day. It has 32 pages of vegetarian main courses and 30 pages following that of Very Veggie side dishes. This one also has ideas for gifts for new parents, making paper napkins special with edger scissors and rubber stamps, making placecards, substituting plain yogurt for sour cream (for instance), and dressing up dinner among many others. I'm slowly collecting these books. I have One Pot Meals, Grandma's Kitchen, and Almost Homemade. You can go to Cracker Barrel to have a hands-on look at some of them.

I've never seen the fall ones. We might have been out of country when they were displayed at Cracker Barrel. Fall harvest recipes intrigue me.

If you have any further questions, let me know. I just wish we lived close enough to you to let you lend a couple cookbooks to browse.

This is a fun site. I've never heard of them before.

I want to add another site for those of you who like country decor, The Country Porch. I purchased my bedding from them.

My mom buys me their Christmas book every year and I have several of the cookbooks. I have also bought some knick knacky things from them. Everything comes so nicely packaged and pretty.

Oh this is a fun thread! (And thank you, Cay and Elizabeth, for mentioning my Christmas post! )

I have loved Gooseberry patch for years! If you like their website, you will love their catalog! Do send for it! It is filled with bright colors, good cheer and inspiration for every season of the year!

I used their weekly planner for years (LOVED it) but they changed the type of paper they use in it (too waxy now ). I have a few of the little Country Friends booklets (Merry Mixes, Bake Sale, Gift Baskets), one of their autumn idea books and several of their annual Christmas books.

I love just looking at it for gift ideas!

I have only one Christmas book. So with multiple Christmas books there are no repeated recipes?

Oh, I just love Gooseberry Patch too! Its so warm and cozy and pretty, and it always makes me want to bake something that smells good! I have the "Come ON Over" cookbook with lots of yummy (albeit fattening) recipes that are quick and easy to put together for company. I also bought some beautiful mixing bowls and a cake platter for my mom's birthday last year. Can't wait to see the fall catalogue!
