Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My dd is going to be starting 3rd grade(she is 1 grade ahead, a young 3rd grader of 7 years.)We have been using FIAR and have done vols 1-3.I have Vol 4 and the Prairie Primer as well as Catholic Mosaic. I know that reardless Catholic Mosaic will be used but which of the other two resources would you suggest doing next? Or should we repeat Vol 1-3 of FIAR before continuing to Vol 4 or the Prairie Primer.

We did the Prairie Primer last year (gr.5) and it is a very full curriculum. I wouldn't do it plus FIAR personally. It is adaptable to many ages, of course. We really liked it, and I wish we could have continued or actually begun with Lissa's books but that would be more like a 2 year curriculum, IMO! But very fun...

I did not mean that I would do FIAR and the Prairie Primer at the same time...more like one per year. But if the PP can be used in 5th grade then I will probably just go no to FIAR Vol. 4 and then look into doing the PP before going to Beyond FIAR.

Prairie Primer is one of those multi-age curriculums that is fully adaptable to many ages, though I think it is more for Elementary than Jr. or High School. Mom would have to do so much adding for the higher grades you might as well buy Further Up and Further In or Where the Brook and River Meet. Marcie Gray recommends the PP for grades 3-6, FUFI for grades 4-8 and WBRM for Jr. and High school students.

I just reread that Haleigh Elizabeth is only 7, you have many years to fill with wonderful explorations. Enjoy the journey!

When I "rowed" Vol 4 with ds, we also re-rowed some of the titles he had done at a much earlier age, especially ones that didn't really sink in the first time around, or the ones that seemed to old when he was 4 or 5. I see no reason why you can't mix the two together and get the best of both worlds.
