Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I've always wanted to hear Sally Clarkson speak.

June B. (over in Texas with Cindy Kelly) let me know about the Texas Home school Coalition coming Aug. 17-19, 2006. Here's their website.

I'd like to go just to hear Sally talk.    I have a cousin who lives in the Woodlands with two of my god-daugthers and my one and only god-son . Gives me 3 more reasons to want to go.

August is so incredibly busy though. I'm going to sit down tonight with my oldest dd to map out the next month. I plan to look closely at this weekend.

Any Texans planning to attend?

Cay,

Where in Texas is The Woodlands?

I'm in Wichita, Kansas and some places in Texas aren't that far for me...

Hey, Cay! I heard Sally Clarkson a couple of years ago at a Whole Hearted Child conference in Dallas. I really enjoyed hearing her. I probably won't be able to attend this one although my close friend just moved to the Woodlands! Courtney

Dawn, the Woodlands is just north of Houston. It's really like a suburb of Houston.

Cay,

Sally spoke at a conferenc here in Sydney this last March - she was very good.

She didn't say anything different to her books but the message can always bear repeating.

I also got to be the "mum" who spoke with teens during a homeschool teen panel - and Sally's oldest dd spoke with us as well. Very articulate and confident .

Darn it, I was hoping it was a suburb of Dallas. Houston is way too far for a weekend trip. Oh, well...

Oh, I would go except that without dh, I can't make these events. No conferences for me this year.

Cay,

Let me know if you go. I'll be visiting in Spring TX (right next to the Woodlands). I won't get in until the 19th, so I'm not sure if I'll make any of the conference itself. I'd love to get together!

Wondering whether I should push my trip and get to Houston on the 18th so I can go to the conference on the 19th. . .

Cay, do you know yet whether you're going?

Is anyone else planning on being there? Or have you gone in the past? I'd love a "review" of the conference/exhibit hall!

Anne Marie,
I'm still planning to go but not sure which day(s). My cousin lives there but her girls will be at school and she works all day. I wonder if they accept children at the conference as I usually have the little ones with me. Need to go check their site again.

I have a friend wanting to go too but I'm unsure which day(s) she can go.

It's all kind of up in the air, but surely we can try for one of the days.

I've gotten all our school curricula so I'm not planning to buy anything. If I go it's to hear Sally Clarkson talk...and to meet real life friends.

Anne Marie,
Are you attending?

This weekend ended up with this conference and a local Catholic Fest I considered going to to promote Catholic Mosaic .

Then dh, who has been working long, hard hours came to me with, "How about taking off this weekend and take the kids on a camping trip to Artesian Springs Resort?"

So...where he goes, so shall I follow. Family, homeschooling life is never dull, huh?

I'm hoping they record the talks. It'd be nice to have some tapes to listen to this winter.

Cay,

Still hoping to! Half the family will be on this trip - I'll drive from Albuquerque to Dallas and drop off dd at U of Dallas on Friday and keep going to Houston. If I'm still coherent after the trip, I'd like to go to the conference on Saturday. We'll see.

Cay, have a wonderful weekend. I'll just have to meet you another time, another conference!

I'd still like to hear if anyone here is planning on going or has been to this conference in the past -
