to just jump in and get started with dd for 9th grade this fall (or this summer...) I see on W & M's 9th grade course plans that there is a selection to be read and narrated. Simple scares me. 
I was wondering if Jenn or anyone else who has used this series could give me an notes on how they used this series and how it went.
Both my daughter and I really enjoyed the series! It's thorough, understandable, and is good for discussion! If your child has been studying the Baltimore Catechism 1 and 2, then this series will complement and further explain. My daughter thought some of it fit more in the category of reviewing, but she appreciated the explanations which were helpful in a practical-apply-this-in-real-life sense. It prompted great discussion. We're using the series again - my oldest son will begin using it next year - and our approach worked well, so I won't be changing it up with him.
