Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi!

This was our twins first year in school - grade 2. While the adjustment has gone well, unfortunately their spelling is "bad", as their teacher told me today.

I need to find a good SPELLING resource to teach them during the summer. One that will be fun and not produce tears!

Can anyone suggest what worked well for their children at this age please? And thanks!

I haven't used either but I hear good things about both All About Spelling and The Phonetic Zoo.

We use Spell to Write and Read and I think it works beautifully, but it might be too overwhelming to try to learn and do all in one summer. All About Spelling that Lindsay mentioned above is very similar to SWR, but it's more scripted and would probably be much easier to pick up and go with over the summer. Either of these programs will lay an excellent foundation that can be built upon over time.
