Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

So I really need a text book World History. Anyone use one they liked? I got McDougal's World History: Patterns of Interaction. But it is HUGE - How on earth do we go at that pace! Also, the teacher online components are confusing and even though they say it for homeschoolers - really it is set up for someone teaching a whole class.

What I want is a book that we can nicely cover (so NOT over 1,000 pages!); that has a syllabus with suggested pace; and has ready make tests.

It doesn't have to be Catholic.

Let me know if you all have any suggestions!

What grade are you looking for?

We are using the Light to the Nations textbooks. I have my 9th grader in Book 1 and my 11th in Book 2 with added reading, essays and research paper. Doesn't come with a syllabus but does have quizzes and questions for tests, and sample essay questions.

My dd graduated this past June. I haven't found a "doable" world history textbook until Light to the Nations.

And like you, it didn't have to be Catholic, but I'm glad to have something not heavier on Muslim. DD did a world history online class at the community college and it was very very Muslim heavy.
