Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I hope I haven't asked this lately but I am looking for a physics text for my very mathy dd. Not calculus based as she will be doing that concurrently, but rather algebra based. My ds loved the living books etc. style but this girl is a give me the facts and do it with a lot of math type student!

I have Apologia, and it looks good, but something more challenging (and less chatty) would be better.

We have looked at Derek Owens but the cost is prohibitive.

We also liked the look of Kinetic Books, but they WON'T sell the solutions manual to homeschoolers (at least that is what they told me, and it looks like that is the common experience). Kolbe uses it, but I would have to enroll full time to get the SM.

Any other ideas??

I saw Barb's post from a while back saying that she tried Giancolli's text. My last physics course seems like ages ago in University so I would like something with a little more parent helps/independence.

You can enrol for just one course with Kolbe, the cost is not so bad then. Have you looked at "Saxon Physics?" I don't know anything about it, just another title.

I need to look at Saxon, but honestly I don't think my dd will like it . The spiral thing drives her crazy.

Unfortunately even with the single enrol at Kolbe they cannot give you the SM

That's too bad! Physics was my least favorite subject in school , have you checked with the Well-trained Mind folks?
