My senior is humming along- works hard, no complaining, usually have to tell him to stop working!
My junior, on the other hand, is wearing me thin  She so wants the 'list' (we have always been more flexible in the past) but she uses it to batter herself (and us) with very frequently. She is very bright but seems to be in a bad rut with getting the 'list' completed. I keep trimming my expectations but the hours still run out.
I am in need of some new inspiration (feels like February already and we are in year 13x 4 kids!): I would especially love to see what a day would look like for your highschool kids. Almost all of our co-op and homeschool friends unschool completely and so I come here for this kind of support  (Not that I am against unschooling!).
Do you have links, blog posts, etc. for the average teenage day in your house? I have read Jen Mack (thanks so much) stuff on her blog and that was very helpful.

I have only one highschooler, with one junior higher, and one elementary (special needs). Our friends also unschool, or use a co-op or other classes for high school. I work part time, so my schedule is very different, but may help you to figure out something new.
We use the Kolbe curriculum with some modifications.
My girls come to work with me on Monday, Wednesdays, and
Fridays. We attend Mass at 8 am, and then head on over to the office. We say the Rosary in the car, as my office is about 30 minutes away from home. After Mass and coming to the office, the girls settle down to start their work. They bring vocabulary, handwriting, spelling, and geography or any other subject they feel they can do with interruptions. My high schooler will also chat with the patients and help me in the front office. In between patients or tasks, we discuss literature or history. I only work mornings, so we then drive home, say another Rosary in the car and come home to a nice lunch. We do a little chores, and then start with the "big" subjects, or the more intense ones. My high schooler will then work on science, history, lit or math by herself. I will later review it with her to see if there are any questions or concerns. We usually spend about an hour talking about what she has done. In the afternoon, she will take some little breaks to text a friend, or ask me a question. She mostly does her work independently, as I have already made her a schedule of what needs to be done for the week. We used to have it mapped out daily, but my days are not consistent, so I now map out what needs to be done for the week. If all the work is done, then she may attend youth group or help with the Carmelite sisters on the weekend. She also has Girls Club and piano. We will watch a show on PBS on the computer on Sunday nights if all the girls' work is done.
Sometimes, we do feel quite lonely in our homeschooling quest, as my expectations are high and I have to run a pretty tight ship around here! But, with a lot of love and prayer and listening to their stories, they develop trust and confidence. I am not a big believer in shopping a lot and going to malls, so that saves a lot of time for us, and keeps the priorities on target.
Keep up the prayers together and time to just talk and listen. We tend to do a lot of school in the evenings, and it is OK!!

I've written a few Day in Our Life posts including our teens as well as younger ones. Not sure if you have been catching our Homeschool High School Carnival?, it's a long way away I know but we'll be talking about 'A Day in Our Life' then.

Thanks Erin. I have been enjoying the carnival- life seems so busy right now (in the middle of a kitchen reno ) but I can't wait to look at your great posts!

I gave the said dd a pared down list this week and last- something to feel like she was accomplishing something, that it was doable and also left room for some other big things she has on her plate. She has risen to the occasion beautifully- but I just have to look forward and not backwards and drop my all or nothing tendencies (easier said than done, but with much prayer I hope to make some progress...) Her older brother read everything possible that he could get his hands on so that has been hard to drop when thinking of highschool planning!!
