Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Saxon math users hows my dd high school math plan:
9th grade finish Alg 1 (we finished last year at lesson71) In Oct. or Nov start algebra 2. 10th grade we finish algebra 2 Oct or Nov and begin advanced math. May or June of 10th grade take PSAT or SAT. 11th grade finish advanced math. 12 grade: calculus with TC dvd and workbook plus any other text to supplement and get her exposed to it incase she needs it in college.

Barb
By the way: these are the Older edition texts of Alg (3rd I believe). So geometry is spiraled through the 2st half on advanced math.

Looks good to me! None of mine made it through Advanced Math but the three who have taken the SAT all scored well in the math section. (And they all did well in college too!

This is more or less my plan, too, Barb, though I tend to get confused about where exactly geometry fits in -- I know it's spiraled through some of these books, and I was assuming that at least some of it is covered in Algebra 2 (which we've just started). Is it covered in the two algebras, Alg 2 and Advanced Math, or ??

I get so confused! My son was playing around with Teaching Textbooks Geometry (which my older daughter had used) this summer, to work on proofs, and he'll probably do more next summer, because he just likes to be overprepared . . . We definitely plan to do Advanced Math, but I'd love clarification about what, exactly, "counts" as geometry in Saxon!

We use the 3rd edition, too.

Sally
