Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am hosting an informal meeting tonight for moms who homeschool high school or plan to. I planned to have the moms just share what they do, what they use and offer support for homeschooling high school in general, but then I thought that providing them a list of where to go online to find support would be helpful. It can be a lonely place homeschooling the Catholic teen. :) Not really and not necessarily for us, but you know what I mean.

I thought I could list all of the Catholic providers:

Seton
MODG
Kolbe
CHC
OLVS
Mater Amabilis

Am I missing any?

And, then some websites:

Harmony Art Mom has a lot to say about high school

And, now I'm drawing a blank.

I will definitely include 4 Real, my personal favorite!

If you have a few go-to sites/blogs for general high school support, would you mind sharing?

Thank you!

Several of us that write and share on our blogs discuss high school, Erica. I'm sorry I don't have time to link all I can think of right now.

HSLDA has some supportive articles-even if you are not a member.
College Plus-an option for some families.
Something from your state/school systems about high school credits and maybe, if available duel enrollment.
..and some social outlets for teens, sports teams, youth groups, co-ops, clubs, info about community colleges, etc.
Hope that helps(probably way more than you wanted

I shared two posts with my local group from your blog, Jen, last week. :) I think my exact words were:

I especially appreciate the time and love she has put into creating a beautiful high school curriculum for her oldest.

I linked to your desk and planning posts because I was trying to encourage the local moms to do something nice for themselves as far as their homeschools, but that was my comment at the end of my plug. I will definitely include your blog and if I don't have time to go through the high school threads before the meeting to find other blogs, I will do so tomorrow.

Thanks!

I have a lot of organized links for history and literature, plus *some* plans and random other high-school/college-prep stuff at Abandon Hopefully. I don't update very often, but have put a lot of work into ancient/classical and medieval/Renaissance cycles of history/lit. Lots of free e-texts!

Thank you, everyone! Sally, I look forward to visiting your blog.

Our meeting went very well. Eleven moms attended, which wasn't even all of the moms who are currently doing high school.

Additional sites/resources that were mentioned last night:

Kahn Academy
Giant Campus Academy
Coursera
Lissa's blog (she was there) :)

Thanks again!
