Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Has anyone used the OLVS elective course on Catholic Heroes in Literature? I've read a couple of these books myself, and they are amazingly wonderful, living books. Thinking of using this with my son this fall.

The sample lesson plan looks like it only gives essay topic ideas? Maybe just get the books to have him read and narrate instead?

I've been supplying my 15 yo ds with these books a little at a time. I thought about getting the lesson plans, too, but with the way we do things... I find it easier to just incorporate them into our study of history, breaking them up by period.

I would contact them and ask about more details about the course. I have done this with several courses and they have been so helpful and friendly! They also sent me extra sample pages to look at. Even if you bought the lesson plans you could still change things in them if you didn't like the way the course is structured.

Thanks, good idea!

The literature is so rich in these selections, I'm excited about including these! (I couldn't pull myself away from the book on St. Fernando III. Loved it!)
