Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I tend to be paranoid for my kids learning. Our province has a couple different programs for homeschooling. You can homeschool your own way, or aligned with the provincial program. I tend to go aligned to them for the simple fact that if anything ever happened to me, they would be put in a school again. That said, for my youngest I use curricula completely of my own choosing. And I plot it out, then we fall behind

Today, i decided I should look at the learning outcomes to see where we are. We have to work on only 2 areas! Everything else we have already entered into the realm of 4th grade :) and she is in 3rd. So, I can relax and breathe a little, we'll keep moving forward in all areas, but we'll have a little more time to work on the 2 areas we need to cover, and we have 3 months to cover it. One thing is actually on today's lesson plan. So we are ok!

I always fear that I will have illiterate children, or they will fall behind their peers. Yet, despite, they do appear to thrive. I need to learn to relax a little bit here. Keep it academic, but not obsess.

So we have a couple math topics to cover, and work on developing writing, but her spelling and grammar are exceptional for 3rd grade, she simply doesn't want to write a few paragraphs, so we need to encourage that yet. We'll get there!
