I'm having a hard time with the search function today, so if there is a past thread addressing this, I don't mind moving discussion there.
I bought several Notebooking series a while back when they were on deep discount. I have LOTS from NotebookingPages.com, GeoScribe, BoyScribe, HistoryScribe, and maybe others.
The difficulty for me comes in how to approach accessing these pages for use in copywork, journaling,etc...
I feel like I'm missing something, but the files for these are SO huge, TONS of pages. And I'm overwhelmed at the prospect of printing them all out (which seems silly when there are always lots of duplicates of the same page just with and without primary lines for writing or slightly different set-ups, etc...) OR sorting through them to make a choice about what I would want OR keeping them in my head to go print out something when I might need it.
In so many ways I think that Notebooking will be a good fit for us, but I'm just a BIG FAT notebook FAILURE when it comes to actually implementing this  
Can someone help me out in explaining this technical side to using ready made notebooking pages? I feel stuck in a really complex chicken and egg debate in my head!

I only have a minute, Lindsay, but I wanted to say that I do find this challenging, too. I'm very visual - I need SOMETHING visual to help me remember the notebooking resources I have.
My solution was to print the Table of Contents pages and include that in my home ed notebook. It is a big help for me!

I second the Table of Contents tip and I have printed out (ahead of time) a few generic sheets that I feel would be used in the subjects we use them for. They sit behind coloured dividers for each subject in a 2 ring binder.
So when 'Johnny' is due to do his Dictation, I just say, grab a sheet from the Language Arts section. I'm finding we tend to keep using the same sort of sheets.

I'm between *notebookers* right now....my olders aren't notebooking any more, and my youngest isn't quite there yet, but my 3rd IS....and I need to get my notebooking pages organized again.
BUT anyway...I was reading Erin's post (recent...but I can't remember where you posted it now, Erin??) about how she makes blank copies of notebooking pages and keeps them accessible and I was thinking that was a very good idea, too. I really liked it and I've been envisioning how I'd do that since my 2nd son is really ready for some notebooking pages. I'd just make a few copies of pages that I know he'd like and maybe keep in an accordion file, or just as Erin does in a notebook with tabs (for subjects) and keep them in sheet protectors designed to hold multiple sheets. Anyway....Erin's post jogged my memory on that and I wanted to mention I thought that a really neat idea, too!

For my dd, picking out the notebooking page herself is part of the fun. When we finish reading (say a history story) we go to the computer together and I open the appropriate file and let her look through and pick a style she likes. It really only takes a few minutes and she gets a kick out of it. It's especially effortless if we do it while looking up some additional info on the topic, or some images to print up from Google.
For some things I do print them up ahead, like if I know we are going to be reading about bluebirds this week, I can go ahead and print that page up for her.
I did print up the tables of contents, and that has helped me to be able to quickly look and see which set to open for certain topics, like I have several bird sets, and I just check and see which one includes bluebirds and open that one.
But the TOC doesn't really help for the basic notebooking pages or the decorative copywork pages. Those you really have to look through to see which one you want.
I just really hate printing up things that we end up not using--I've done that way too often--and so I avoid printing ahead whenever possible.
