Tomorrow is the first day of school for us, I've held off, I may regret it.....DS17 will leave as usual for work with dh(he's in an apprenticeship program), DD14 will be dropped off at school, and I'm taking the other 2 for breakfast, then we do something fun, I'm thinking the corn maze. Then in the afternoon, we'll look at some school stuff.
Hope everyone has or is having a great school start, fresh and full of hope!

Yeay!! We are slowly easing back, but we have been picking up speed the last couple weeks. The kids are really enjoying it and so am I. I love starting school.

We're starting next week with a modified-light-week, then we go full-on the week of the 12th, which is when the public schools go back.
LOVE the beginning of the school year . Although it feels like we are JUST getting our summer weather....so I have mixed feelings also.

We are slipping in slowly this week as well, with just a few fun projects. I love this time of year.

Well we started dd12 officially. I am using a combination of CHC and the school board curricula. I decided to get into it and use HST for her, so I can track everything for the board. Print outs seem easier. She does have to submit some work to the instructors there. It also keeps her from running ahead and burning out. She has a tendency to do things in spurts, 2 or 3 hours of one subject, and neglects everything else, I'm not going to allow that. For now she's getting one day at a time. once her sports start, then we'll do one week at a time, so she can make up the missed day for a tournament on the days before.
She started to read Light to the Nations... she became confused. As it is very Christian, so I explained it was world history from a Christian/Catholic view. She looked disappointed. I laughed at her. I told her it's a huge drama. To give it a chance. We chatted about a few high and low points of the Catholic church, how the Christians were initially being persecuted for their faith, and how later it was convoluted and they were persecuting others. Where there was a low, there were tremendous highs as well. She is now curious. It should be interesting.
DD7, we haven't started too much. We're starting more officially tomorrow, but we've done math, handwriting, piano practice, then we're going to Dairy Queen, and a couple errands, and will do reading and spelling on our return.
I'm feeling really good about this year. I was a little anxious yesterday, today I feel better about it.
