Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am pretty sure I've read something about this here but I can't find it. Do any of you remember a thread or have you read an article about focusing on the mother/child relationship before diving into homeschooling.

I am thinking of a new homeschooling mother whose child is really being difficult after leaving school. Refusing to do assignments, tuning out during instruction, throwing a fit over even a simple request. The child left school about 6 weeks ago.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I think that sort of thing is usually spoken of in terms of "deschooling".. and pulling up deschooling in a search brings up a LOT of threads.

I don't have any advice, but I will pray for your family.

Thanks Jodie,
All I could think of was decompressing. That didn't pull up anything. LoL, deschooling ...decompressing, so close yet so far!

Here's one that sounds like what you might be looking for.
