Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

As i shop for next year's resources, I am interested as always in finding the best deals.

I thought it might be fun and helpful to start a list of places that offer the bottom line best deals on particular items.

So far, I have discovered that both Rainbow Resources and Christianbook.com carry Apologia Science at the lowest prices I've seen.

CB has the Apologia book I need for $26 new, with free shipping through
Friday (code sent to me via e-mail). At other places the same book is as high as $39.

Rainbow Resources carries the Artistic Pursuits series for $38.95, but Linda at Sacred Heart books has them beat at $36, with free shipping on orders over $25 to boot.

RR has a lot of RS math materials at good prices as well. You can get free shipping, but you have to spend $150.

If you've done any price shopping lately and wouldn't mind sharing your research, please feel free to chime in!

Good idea, Melinda.

What I like to do is make a list of the bottom line cheapest. If there are multiple places I have to shop, I look at combining and ordering from one place, instead of multiple...since the cost in shipping will knock out my savings. Plus, I do like to look first in the small Catholic companies: Sacred Heart, St. George, Emmanuel, etc.

If you attend a conference that RightStart is attending, you get free shipping.

I get almost everything from Amazon - they often are the cheapest.

Plus then I use gift cards earned from various online sites to lower the cost even further. For next year {1st} I'll have spent around $100 total cash - another $250 or so was all Amazon with gift cards. That includes everything for Little Flowers Wreath 1 and startup {sash & patches, books, leader's guides, cd, etc}, Catholic Heritage Curricula Grade 1 and all books recommended in LPs, all our extra just for reading books, including Windeatt saints books and some Seton Books.

I only buy with cash what I can't get from Amazon or what is drastically cheaper elsewhere.

I didn't see the free shipping over $25 at Sacred Heart Books, is it over already?

Also be sure to check into using http://www.ebates.com you can get a small percentage back from many stores. They send you the money back 4 times a year as long as you're over $5.

Also hunt for online coupons. I usually do a full websearch for them. From my research no one site always has the best deals. You might also get on mailing lists for the sites you're looking at. That can give you opportunities to get deals you wouldn't normally get. I use an email "rule" to send ads to their own folder so that I'm not fussing with them when I'm not in the market but when I'm looking I can check out what's coming in.

Hmm.... all I am seeing now is flat rate shipping of $4.95. Maybe the free shipping has been discontinued? The website was just completely redone, so maybe they changed the shipping. Rats.

Homeschool Buyers Co-op

They have fantastic deals, and signing up costs nothing! The trick is knowing what you're looking for and being patient enough to wait for a good deal there.

This one for sure! I'm waiting - they are supposed to be running a co-op on MCP Math and Phonics in the next few weeks!

I would also consider customer service over saving a few bucks and supporting Catholic Suppliers when you can--I had very bad customer service with RR but have great experiece with CBD. Adoremus Books just ended their 20% off and have great customer service. I think SH Books does 15% off when they are at conferences and usually extends that for a few days afterwards probably.

Can you give us some examples of items that you have bought from them in the past? I am really curious now... thanks.

I just signed up a couple months ago when Kacky linked it for the Math Mammoth sale. So, I purchased Math Mammoth, which was a great deal.

And, I also got the BRAVEWRITER -- "Writer's Jungle" at 50% off.

I use Homeschool Buyers Coop as well and have gotten some great deals through them. Most significantly was Explode the Code Online for half price.
Right now Currclick is having a really great sale--50% off many products. Plus you can use this linkCurrclick sale to get an additional 50% off their sale prices.
I personally like Currclick a lot. I've gotten products from Notebooking Pages.com, History Scribe, and Notebooking Nook at real steal prices. In fact just today I purchased and downloaded Notebooking Nook's Medieval Times Combo pack (Over 800 pages) for only 9 dollars(regularly 26 bucks). I have all the pages I need (and more) for notebooking JBug's history next year. How cool is that?
I know I sound like an advertisement, but I just really like this site for getting notebooking pages cheap.

Have any of you tried Plato Science? I saw that the Homeschool Buyers Coop had a good deal on this and am wondering about it...

Have you seen that Homeschool Buyer's Co-Op currently has Rosetta Stone on special too! HUGE savings there, over 30% off!

I bought the Math Mammoth too. I'm interested to see what else comes through. Being patient is the key :-)

I hope you are right! MCP is what we use for phonics and math.

Brave writer is over at the Home school co-op for 50% off right now too!!!

I wanted to comment on Curr-click as well. I LOVE them and use them for all of my copywork needs and have gotten so very much for my pre-schooler as well. Lots of wonderful resources.

Faith and Life Teacher's Manuals are for sale here for $12.95 each. That is for the unrevised edition, and that does not include shipping.

But- I think it's still a good deal, especially if you want to see what the manual has in it without paying a huge amount.
