Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I want to start with CHC before the "school year", but how do I get it so the lesson plans work for working year round, starting in may?? (It starts in Sept? and the Church year won't line up right)
I'm so sorry it seems like I ask the SAME question everytime..

I'll give this one a stab. I like to look at CHC lesson plans for all the great ideas strewn about along the way.

I go through them and make a running list on a sheet of paper.
I start at September and write a list for all the the seasonal/religious activities and projects suggested for the month that I am interested in.

Then I go on to October.... by the time I am through the lesson plans I have a neat list, usually 1-2 pages long, of what I will use for each month.

Then throughout the year I refer to my list as needed. So it doesn't matter if my schedule doesn't exactly match up with theirs; I just refer to my list for each month. That also saves me from having to flip constantly through pages in the syllabus.

We start school in August, so I rely on my own sources for activities for the month.

If I were using only CHC and following their lesson plan exclusively, I would still go through and make my own running list for each subject. That way I could work through it at my own pace and not worry about matching their months to mine.

I like that idea - just have your monthly plans separate (in the same binder if you prefer), so you can follow the academic plans and add in the appropriate liturgical ideas.

We're all over the place with the start of new lesson plans as well - we have never started a new grade in September - and even if we did, we have our own pace entirely
