Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I didn't know whether to post this here, but it was so neat that I had to post it somewhere.

This a.m. when I was getting ready to start school, Thomas (my 7 yo) asked me if he could suggest what to do for the morning. A bit tentatively (imagining "let's play Xbox all morning, mom") I said sure. Here's his suggestion:

Why don't Maggie and I each pick a Bible story to read -- like the one about the giant guy or the one with the hair (that would be David and Goliath and Samson ) and we can just read a few stories.

Well, 10 stories later we decided to shift to a different subject. But isn't this a great idea? He went and got the Bible -- I thought he'd get the kids one with lots of nice stories, but he got the DKDK Illustrated Family Bible -- so we had lots of built-in rabbit trails to follow with this particular book's side bars and notes on tools etc mentioned.

We had such a great learning morning! And it was all Thomas' idea!

It sounds like you had a wonderful morning! I think it's neat that he chose bible stories over all the other choices a boy could make .

God Bless,
