Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I rec'd a catalog (of many!!!) from Oriental Trading and was looking at some of their teacher/student supplies and was wondering if anyone has used them before? I've purchased things for treat bags and birthday parties and such but not sure about the quality and durability of some of their manipulatives...beads, flashcards, pocket charts etc. Anyone have any experience? The prices seemed reasonable...all weren't dirt cheap but I guess inexpensive enough that I wondered if it was worth it.

Thanks,

The few things I've ordered have all been well made.

I have ordered LOTS of items from them, both for personal use, and for big things like VBS, Sunday School, etc.

Some are good, and a really good value for your money.

Some look really good in the pictures, but turn out to be poorly made or just not quite up to snuff.

And then sometimes items have arrived damaged/broken. But every time I've called them to return/replace something, they've been very polite and very prompt about it...no questions asked! They usually don't even want you to return the items to them in the mail...they just say to throw them away if they're broken, or if you want to return something, they'll ask you to donate it to a church or school, and then credit you for it.

So, take your chances with some of the more iffy items (craft kits, etc) and know that while it might take more than one shipping to get more "perfect" orders, they'll do what needs to be done to make it right.

I've ordered many party, craft and educational items from OTC and I've found that quality really depends on the individual item. Some have been quite sturdy while others have fallen apart BEFORE use. With discounts and free shipping though off of their email list you can't beat the price for a lot of things.
