Just wanted to pop in and thank you ladies for all of the replies. This thread was encouraging and helpful to me. I have settle on using Mater Amabilis this year with a few materials from CHC. I have settled on a routine that is "pegged" to meal times and it is working well.

And I have some exciting news too. My 13 year old and I decided to do half day homeschooling after the last three years in Catholic school and then public school. He goes to the local middle school in the morning and I pick him up before lunch. We are doing religion, history, latin and economics in the afternoon. So far, so good. We're both enjoying it.
