Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi all,

I have a well worn and loved "The Well-Trained Mind" Book that I started out with when first homeschooling, went to Seton fully, and now I am coming back to WTM for the younger set, Seton for the older. My question is, with so many new offerings from Susan Bauer, is the new book (i.e. the revised edition) different from the old one? If so, in what way? I have already been shelling out dough for the new Language Lesson books and the new writing series they have which look great, so I wanted to purchase the book only if it was something really different. I also have looked at their website and they have a lot of articles explaining how to use the new books, so maybe I don't need the updated book? Can you tell I am "trying" to control my book addict side?

I don't think it is significantly different from the old one, but I do like having it. I have both the 2nd and 3rd Edition. It references a different History Encyclopedia than before as the ones in the 1st and 2nd ed. are now OOP. Unfortunately, the one she references in the new edition is now also OOP. There are a few other areas that have new or more curriculum options. I haven't spent as much time with the new one as I would like. I think you'd be fine either way.

Now, if they would just update the Activity Books!! So many of the recommended books are OOP and not available at my library!!

God Bless,

Anita
