Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I don't think they are necessary for using their texts (we do)at all, but they do provide lots of information, extras for additional practice, instruction for teaching difficult concepts, common errors made and how to overcome them, and stuff like that.

You know, if you order $100 dollars of books from them you get a sample lesson plans pack with it free.
I spent my first half dozen years homeschooling enrolled with Seton and really appreciated having the lesson plans - I needed the extra security. And I learned lots from using them.

The lesson plans are good, but you don't have to have them to use their books.

The high school English plans are gold, but while the few lower level ones that I picked up had some key information for the most part they weren't necessary and just created busy work. Not so the high school English.
