My dh found this site recently... it has many free audiobook downloads for kids, including many Christmas stories. You can also listen to the stories on line or read them as text. Neat site!

Thanks for the great links! I'm a new ipod owner, can mp3 files be downloaded to my ipod? I noticed the book files are mp3.

Yes, MP3 files can be loaded onto your ipod. My dh did a search for kids' MP3 files on Google, and that is how he found the site.

We have some of them downloaded onto little mp3 players (Creative Muvo) for the kids to listen to in the car, etc.

Here's another example of how re-posting blesses some of us. Even though you already had (and forgot) the link, Melinda, I had never seen this and was just in the process of trying to find audio files of stories to download onto my IPod for some upcoming long car rides. So I'm very glad you forgot and re-linked to this great site!

I just checked out Storynory for the first time tonight, and I was glad to find it. I think I'll burn all the Greek myths onto one CD - I'm not sure I like the idea of my littles listening to headphones yet. You can also print out the story to let the kids read along.

However, I did notice that the St. Valentine story ended by saying that (Bishop) Valentine fell in love with the jailor's daughtor. That's not just wrong, that's scandalous. I did leave a comment about it.
