Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I know it has been discussed here, but I have heard some comments lately that Rosetta Stone (we have the newer version 3) for spanish is not a thorough enough program for high school. I wonder, I like it. I actually think that version 3 does a great job on grammar (version 2 did not), and I feel that we are learning tons of vocab as well. Am I kidding myself, does anyone else out there like Rosetta Stone for high school?

I'd love to hear more about Rosetta Stone. I've been trying to reserve it from our library to no avail. It's so expensive I'd like to hear some opinions first!

I'd love to know too. We used RS for Spanish when it was available (free) through our state's library system online. I don't know what version that would have been but it was 2 yrs ago. It had almost NO grammar, so we used it 2-3 days/week and then used Seton's Spanish Now 2-3 days a week for grammar. Together it worked pretty well but if RS is now including more grammar I'd be interested. Now that we can no longer get it through the state's library system, I've thought about buying it.

You don't have to buy the whole package now. They've divided it into smaller chunks and I also bought the homeschool version!

Bumping this up for a follow up: DS is in 11th. He has discovered the Univ. of Washington (seattle WA). They require "validation" of homeschool subjects (UGH!). We were happy with rosetta stone feeling that is may not make us expert spanish speakers but we do it daily and it fullfills our spanish for our transcript. Now, I am faced with the fact that if he wants to apply to this school - he needs to take SAT subject test in spanish! We don't have lots of time here; if I had known this was a requirement I would have used something different for spanish!

Anyway - I got Barron's Spanish Now! We are in level 2 of rosetta stone and will continue with adding Spanish Now! level 2. Any suggestions of what I could do differently?
