Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi everyone-

I'm new to posting so bear with me. I'm wondering if anyone out there has ideas for finding Catholic home school groups in my area. I just read Haystack Full of Needles- it is an awesome book and I was so inspired- but I don't know if there are any groups like this in my area. We live in Minnesota, just north of the Twin Cities and I can't seem to find any groups out there. My dds would love to find some Catholic home school friends their ages (11 and 9). Is there any help? Any ideas?

We pulled our daughters from the local Catholic School and now the "school" friends don't seem to want to play or hang out with "homeschoolers". It's really sad for my dds and I'd really like to help them find nice, close friends.

Anyway, if anyone has any more ideas or know of any groups please help!

Blessings,
Deb

Oh, I am glad Paula responded.
We moved a 4 years ago and I just did searches on the web for Catholic homeschool groups. I really combed through the web. We found our group about a year ago and it has been wonderful.
I hope you get connected soon.

also call the churches to ask.. and if everything doesn't pan out for a Catholic group (though I hope you're near Paula), look for other groups that sound welcoming to Catholics.. you may find some there.

You may want to check to see if there is a T.O.R.C.H. (Traditions of Roman Catholic Homes) homeschool chapter near you.

We found our homeschool group when one of the group members posted a small note in our Catholic bookstore. It just said - "Interested in Catholic Homeschooling? Call xxx-xxxx". I called and now I'm part of a wonderful group of friends. You might check a local Catholic bookstore (if you have one) or even post a message yourself if they will let you.
