Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

How have you done these? I am looking for a way to do some. I even have the Castle Heights book but many of the labs require a microscope which we don't have and can't afford. I live out in the boonies so a co-op or something isn't an option. This is for a non-college bound kid. I am wondering about doing some virtual labs. Is that acceptable?

We did some virtual labs and our umbrella school said virtual dissection was fine. Just remember to have your child sketch the dissection and label the parts.

Remember that you can dissect plants, too (same sketch rule applies).

A magnifying glass, while not a microscope, can reveal some amazing things.

Field studies (along the lines of the One Small Square books) are also acceptable biology projects.

Finally, my colleague has some biology experiment and lab ideas on her website, and we used some of them.

HTH!
