Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

O.K. This is humbling to post this. I should be more on the ball, (sigh) but I overlooked this one and I am posting this mostly for all of you families to be aware of. Our son goes by his middle name and that is how the SAT admission ticket has gotten to be an issue with us! His middle name is on the admission ticket and his legal name on his photo i.d.

Any advice? I have a few days and have a couple things I am doing. But, he may not be able to take these tests because his name on the roster and his photo i.d. don't match.

He jokingly told me, " Mom, this has been my dilemma my whole life! I live with two names. Sometimes I'm Phillip(named after his father), but mostly I'm Alex. I'm not surprised this happened!"

Can you reach College Board (are they the ones that administer the test?) by phone, or email? What about the school where he will take it?

My other thought is to take his birth certificate along and for you to present your license as well.

Just some thoughts.....

Thank you, Tami. the teacher involved with the SAT administration at the high school was so helpful! He said not a problem. Our son has his photo i.d. with his full name on it so they can see that his middle name is his "nickname". It was such a relief to speak with someone so helpful! The lesson here is to stay on top of this kind of thing. He actually said it will not be a problem for the test taking. For the colleges though he said we need to change the College Board online account to his legal name or there is the possibility that some colleges may not accept the test result (if the names do not match). The solution is to fax two forms of i.d. and the name will be changes to his legal name in three to five business days which is o.k. because they give you two week until after the test date to make the change.

Yes, I did talk to the College Board people yesterday and they were saying he would more than likely be turned away at test taking. But since I gave the school heads-up they are expecting our son and are making a note of it.

What a relief! And...the college board did change the high school code on our admission ticket right on the spot.
