Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Just thought I'd share this with y'all:

Just before Thanksgiving my 16 yos brought home some kind of virus from his school; two ro three weeks later his turned into pneumonia....we have all been fighting this virus, off-and-on since before Thanksgiving.

DH just took the three littles to the urgent care yesterday -- two have pneumonia (needing O2 treatments and just missed being hospitalized) and one just has a bad URI!

Who'd send their kids to "real school" when this is what happens !

Hope y'all had a blessed and healthy Christmas -- off to dose one of the medicines ($200 later )

Mary,
We will pray for you all today...we are showing signs of illness here, too, but it's from all the Christmas shopping at the mall (you know you're in trouble when your 3 yr old rolls around on the tile at the mall!)...

We're sick, too...everyone has the Death Cold of Doom except yours truly...guess I'll get it just in time to sneeze instead of sing at Sunday Mass.

Our pastor says he's going to anoint my dh if he doesn't stop getting every virus that comes along...

We've been sick too here, and none of my kids go to school, they're all homeschooled.

BUT, we got respiratory viruses from one of the tenors in our adult choir (my dh's choir) that we're all in.

THEN, I got a virus from my nephew who came home from college (I'm convinced dormed students in colleges are a hotbed of illness!).

We have a HUGE extended family, so my kids are still exposed and get sick from their many cousins who get these viruses in school.

Ah well, such is life. We're all exposed some way or another I guess.

Yeah, my family is sick too. It was the Christmas vigil mass that did us in. We live in a ski resort town and our little chapel was simply crammed with vacationers from all over the state or country, no doubt.

The athletic 12yo has the worst dose. Looks like it's turning into bronchitis or pneumonia or something. The immunesuppressed 6yo seems to hardly be symptomatic at all, go figure! His iron constitution is probably what got him through all his medical disasters in the first place.   We're always blown away by how healthy he stays in regard to routine viruses.

Seems like RSV is lurking around every corner kind of scary with a baby in the house! We should be in for a good puking virus any time now -it always seems to be this time of year.
