Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

These are not books, but I put a few of these MOVIES on hold at the library for possible viewing (for us, not dc) sometime during Lent:

**Babette's Feast
**Shawshank Redemption
**Joan of Arc
**Molokia: the story of Fr. Damien
**The Passion of Joan of Arc
**Under the Sun of Satan
**The Tree of Wooden Clogs
**Au Revoir Les Enfants
**The Ninth Day
**Monsieur Vincent
**Teresa de Jesus
**St. Teresa of Avila

Sorry for the serial posting.....try to get these in before the boards close.....

I just posted about this picture book Four Feet, Two Sandals in the Picture Book Forum. Thought it would make a good Lent book, as it would fit into discussions about "Almsgiving" ....and also "Praying" and "Fasting" for refugee children

EWTN is hosting Jeanne Bogle's Feasts and Seasons of the Church for Lent. The girls and I plan to watch that.

I'm trying to find "My Domestic Church" book which is missing-in-action at the moment.

Bumping this one, too, as it has a mix of picture book, chapter book, and movie recommendations.

Add to the list with new titles or finds...

I just purchased A Family Journey with Jesus Through Lent and I'm very excited! It seems just the right format for my children this year.

A Family Journey is a great book! We read it last year and I liked the fact that the stories are told from the point of view of children. I used it at home and in catechism class and it held the children's attention!
