Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I found these leggings while trying to search for a 100% cotton legging provider that was inexpensive. These look great but no idea how to dye them. The dyes on the site (and I bought the play silks from them a month ago when that was a thread last month) seem really industrial and not for just a few pairs of leggings.

Any ideas that aren't expensive and won't make it worth doing the project myself KWIM?

How about Ritz dyes, they are available lots of places. The Procion dyes at the Dharma site come in small sizes, but you need to add the ash so I don't know how difficult that will make the project.

My mom just used the Ritz dyes on a pair of leggings last week and they worked great...just make sure you don't have a hole in your glove, like she did...and now has black fingers!

If you want softer colors, Kool Aid works great!

Or you could do an experiment with natural dyes. We have used purple cabbage, red onions, berries, bark and other things to dye with beautiful results.

LeeAnn have you used KoolAid on cotton?

This site says not to use it on cotton.

I forgot about the Ritz dyes. I might even have a box of that somewhere, thanks for the memory jog!

Yes we have used Kool Aid on cotton. Ritt isn't fiber reactive either. Use some white vinegar to help set the colors. I have shirts we dip dyed with Kool Aid several years ago, that have faded, but are still attractive.
