Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Not that we stall learning in the summmer

It went very well and smoothly. My outlook was so calm and grateful, and believe me, after 9 years at this, this is not always my natural state!

One thing I noticed that I would have to tweak (should've learned this last year) is that they children need more independent work. The Jacob's Algebra was a hit but will take a bit to get into the format after Math U See. Henle too will need some reviewing and much child-parent work to get it working smoothly. I often let my children direct their writing (as long as they are doing it) but they were all clamoring for dictation (well, not the 8 year old- he was clamoring for a break after 10 minutes of math!).

Somehow I am going to have to get a wee bit organised so that all the kids aren't needing that mom help at the same time- funny, they seem to not need me many days on some lessons and then bang, it pours!

Considering (for the 1000th time) a bit of a writing outline they can work from (list of ideas) so that I am not so in the driver's seat (they have always abhorred writing programs, but have come to really enjoy writing in the past couple of years).

That sounds like wisdom born of years of experience, m'dear. Good for you!

If you're not completely organised, it's enough to stay ahead of the wave by a week or two. For me, it's finding the time (consistently) to prepare a little ahead. I decided this year to plan blocks ahead - this is where my waldorf-style really comes to the fore and shines. I'm trying to do a little more at a time so that I can be totally organised before the new baby arrives. That way, I can be a back-seat driver.

You know, and ring the bell for service of tea, biscuits, and chocolate.

Blessings,
