Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I just dated myself, I'm sure. DO they even sell Trapper Keepers anymore, lol?
My son will be in 10th grade. I have had a problem with his losing his notebooks for math, copywork, dictation, science, etc.
I am wondering if it would be better to have one larger binder that is harder to lose. It could have dividers for the different subjects.
Does anyone else do it this way?
I guess the biggest problem is that if he loses it, he loses *everything*. However, it is only one thing to put in his tote at the end of the day.It is also bigger than a little spiral notebook that can get lost easily. I could also put his subjects in the binder in order.
Hmm, ideas anyone?

In Christ,

Leocea

On a recent run to the library, someone had just donated a stack of materials...on top was a bright blue Trapper Keeper. I laughed out loud - just saying the words took be back - I opened the velcro tab and everything...the 20-something library clerk was just staring at me.
I called my older-by-a-few-years sister as soon as I got in the car - she remembered that hers was green!

Sorry - I guess my little trip down memory lane doesn't help you at all! Good luck!

They must still sell them, because my son's school supplies list includes "trapper with nine trapper folders". Who knew?

They do still sell them. I was looking at them tonight at Staples. They have different ones, even one touted as the "Original Trapper Keeper"

I remember I always wanted one, but my parents never thought I needed one.

Dear Leocea,

Last year I implemented a strict one binder per child rule...NO notebooks, only looseleaf paper and dividers for each subject. At the end of their time working on each subject, each child placed their work into his own binder.

It was the best decision that I have ever made and I will never go back. The binder never leaves the house, or really even the school book shelves, so it can't be lost or misplaced. The work is all located in one place, so it makes finding the work for correcting a thousand times easier than the old "hunt and peck" method of trying to find the right notebook.

It also makes it much easier to see that they have completed their work for the day, because all of their work must be dated, and finally, it has made it FAR easier to do the grading at the end of the semester because everything is in one place in chronological order (most recent on the top.)

Peace.

You can buy Trapper Keepers at Walmart!

None of my kids wanted one though
Picking some nifty new school supplies each year is a back to school tradition at our house.
