Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

for those folks particularly in Virginia -- but actually anywhere -- how do you file/register your homeschool? Do you take the standardized tests annually or waive them?

Any and all advice would prove helpful!

Mary,
For the years I lived in Prince William, I never filed. We just stayed under the radar, so to speak. We did the same in Stafford until Charlie went to school and then we took him out again. We now have Religious Exemption so we do not have to submit anything.

I know some of the families in Prince William had Religious Exemption as well. I don't think they give you a hard time.

I just filed a letter of intent and sent Adeline's California Achievement test scores in. I was pretty anxious about the whole testing thing, but she scored like two grades ahead. She even has the vocabulary of a seventh grader! I am very proud of her. (And relieved because I see-sawed back and forth between WTM and unschooling all year.)
