Tammy Duby (from Tobin's Lab) and I are in the process of organizing a Mom's Day Out here in Williamsport, PA, that will include three different Lap Book classes. We are looking at a Saturday in August. The workshop will run from 10am - 3:15pm. I'm thinking that those who don't live too far away may be interested. Please PM me if you are and I'll give you the details as they are available.
Tammy's bio:
Tammy Duby is a homeschool mom of 18 years, a mother of two, and a borrower of other people’s children. She holds degrees in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. Her teaching takes a hands-on approach, while emphasizing literature and history. Her workshops offer a blessing, a good laugh, and practical ideas parents can implement right away. Tammy is the co-author of the Ultimate Lap Book™ Handbook, and is currently working on a curriculum project for Common Sense Press. She and her husband Mike own Tobin’s Lab: Hands-On Science. While equipping families to teach science at home, their special joy is ministering to parents at conferences and at support group workshops. They live in the country near Culpeper, Virginia with Megan, age 14 and Tobin, age 21. Tobin is an Eagle Scout and a National Merit Scholar, and is studying literature at Patrick Henry College.
Update: Lap book workshop is scheduled for Saturday, August 23rd.

Donna, sounds like wonderful fun! I had to look up how far away is Williamsport from me. I wish you much success!
I just love this idea, and I know some of us have talked about doing the same thing around here. I really want to try my hand at lapbooking -- I need to get over the fear of the unknown!

Jenn it is about 4 hours from us. I think we drive through Williamsport on our way to Buffalo sometimes.
I'm interested also. Although we could just drive out to her home in C'pep. Also I wonder if she is going to be at the conference in Chantilly in July....
hanging out with Donna would be fun though!

LOL, Mary, Culpeper is only 45 minutes away. Much better on the wallet for gas. Although I am craving some road trips....

Yeah, yeah, yeah! The last workshop we had several years ago was so much fun. There were 4Realers all the way from New Hampshire that joined us for the weekend.
Lots to do here in Wmspt!

Now, I'd drive 4 hours for that! I've been spoiled having MaryM nearby ... and as she'll tell you, I'm pretty nature challenged!

And if you really want to save on gas, Tammy has a great DVD which you can watch at home! I know, not nearly as much fun as being with friends...but you can invite local ones over to watch. I have the DVD so if anyone around here wants to borrow...let me know!

I just LOVE Tammy!!! She was wonderful when she gave her workshops at our state LEAH convention a few years back! She's very contagious!

My thoughts, EXACTLY, Laura!
BTW......it was this avoidance of breaking the 10th Commandment, that Willa and I started camping in the west.

ROFL!!!!
Laura, I was thinking the same thing for myself when I scrolled down to your post!!!
It feels so good to be left-out together! (God's will is perfect....over and over to myself until I feel it...or fall asleep from the monotony of my own voice.)
