Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I would like to know if anybody does Mater Amibilis and if this is doable with a big family. I am looking into this option along with Unit studies but i really like the fact that the curriculum is thorough.
Do you tweek it for your family and how?
TIA

I am NO pro, but I just started using MA but it's mixed with AO. I like both selections of literature, so I give the older girls (actually my ONLY 2 girls) their pick and my older 2 boys theirs.

Lang Arts- PLL, ILL, LM- starting soon

As far as history, I pretty much use AO as a guideline, but I mix in MA's antient history.

Science- Real science for kids (we haven't started it yet, we're finishing up Apologia.)

Geographpy- again, mixing them both MA & AO up plus my own.

IMO something either here or there is gonna need to be tweaked. Sometimes it can be fun and other times it's a bit of a chore, but in the long run it always seems to be worth it.

Am I missing anything?

Oh, and yes, I believe it's doable for a big family. I've got 7.

I hope I helped rather than confused you.

Good luck and God Bless!

PLL 2nd-3rd (currently using and ENJOYING!)
ILL 4th-6th (currently using and ENJOYING!)
LM 6th-7th

I'm gonna use LM mid 6th and go from there. If we work through it in 8th grade I'm not worried, some moms here (I've read) have ued it for 8th.

Lang Arts isn't my strong area so I'm not planning on rushing it, but I don't plan on holding my DC back because of me.

Blessings

Thanks you so much for helping me out with this I am in need of all the tips I can get I just dont have too much time and sit and go through all the curriculum choices each method has. I am interested to in the Literature part of MA. I also checked out AO and they have a lot of good resources to fall back onto. I just hope I can pull it off I have a bit nervous but how bad can I mess if I keep asking questions.
