I'm looking for "A Day in the Life" type contributions from homeschoolers for a new book project I'm editing called "Ordinary Time" (subtitle tbd). It will run along the lines of "Patchwork of Days" from several years back. The major difference is that it will be in the context of the Domestic Church- how our practice of faith permeates our lives and home-schools. You should include:
Names of family members
Ages
Relative Grade equivalents
City/State/Province/County and Countr (if outside the US)
Home Parish
Patron Saints (if any)
Methods followed, curricula used
Reasons for choosing home
Journal Entry (one day - your choice - detailing everything you do and think throughout the day)
Feel free to include a copy of your record-keeping materials.
This book will be marketed to mainly new homeschoolers through homeschooling groups and parishes (mainly Catholic). Ideally, I would like a representative family from each of the 50 states and one from each of any countries outside the US. If you could also include a set of homeschooling regulations for your location, that would be enormously helpful.
I hope to have this ready for the start of next school year (Summer '08)
You may email me at nissa@partridgehillmedia.com with the subject line "Ordinary Time". It's very important that you include the subject line above so that your contribution does not get misplaced or deleted. I'm looking forward to your contributions, and please feel free to pass along this information to anyone you know!
Blessings,

Just a reminder that I am still in need of contributions. I also wanted to announce a change to the email address for submissions: ordinarytime@partridgehillmedia. Please make certain you use this email address as it is essential to keeping them organised.
Ideally, I would like to have contributions from each of the 50 States, as well as entries from outside the US. I'm keen to get some contributions from military families as well.
My deadline is fast approaching - 25 April. I have had several proposals for entries, but nothing has come in to me as yet, so everything is currently open. Get your proposals and entries to me as early as possible to allow for the editing process.
I would really appreciate any help in promoting the request for contributions. Please feel free to include the NEW email and the postal addresses, on your blogs, forums, or email lists.
All contributors will receive a copy of the completed book.
Blessings,

And to Jennifer for taking on military homeschooling (Army). I'm happy to take families from other branches, too! I suspect that the support (having been an Air Force wife, and a Marine Corps brat) is quite different from one branch to the next.
Blessings,

BUMP! Still looking for contributions - I have only received one to date. All I need at the moment is a journal entry from any day you choose. Please record your entire day.
I'll get back to you with other requests for details, as needed.
Blessings,

We are back in school now but I just wanted to say that I think this sounds like a wonderful book idea.
