Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi Ladies! I have a rather odd situation. We are hosting an exchange student from Germany for the year and she is required by the exchange organization (YFU) to take either an American History class or a US Government class. She had to take history because that was all that was left when she enrolled at the high school. Well, needless to say, she is finding the class and the material most uninteresting and the teacher is less than inspiring. I would like to supplement her history education with some living books, but I am not familiar with high school level stuff just yet (ours are all under 10yo). My thought is to start her with the Scarlet Letter and/or the Pilgrim's Progress, but I am not sure that these would come first chronologically. I don't want to miss something. If anyone has a booklist for American History that they would be willing to share, or if you could point me to one I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much!

Blessings,
Betsie
